Day Rooms and Layover Stays at Montreal Airport
On a long daytime stop at Montréal-Trudeau, the options are terminal seating, a lounge, or a hotel room used for the day. This guide covers hotel rooms used for the day.
The in-terminal hotel
The Marriott Montreal Airport In-Terminal Hotel is in the terminal building, so the transfer is a walk. It sells two day passes: a Guest Room Day Pass from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, which includes the pool and the 24-hour gym, and a Concierge Lounge Day Pass from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm with pool, gym, Wi-Fi and luggage storage. The hotel does not publish the prices; ask when you book.
Shuttle hotels for longer stops
None of the Dorval hotels publishes a day room, so a daytime stay there means booking the night. The Sheraton Montreal Airport Hotel is a 7-minute walk from the airport and runs a free shuttle every 30 minutes. The Fairfield Inn & Suites is 0.5 km away, runs a free 24-hour shuttle on request, and its rate includes a hot breakfast from 6:00 am on weekdays. The Aloft has a grab-and-go counter open 24 hours.
Allow for the shuttle both ways plus security re-screening: on a six-hour layover at a shuttle hotel, expect roughly four hours in the room.
Lounges for shorter stops
For stops under about four hours, a lounge needs no transfer: the Desjardins Odyssey lounges charge $42 per adult before tax, and only the international Maple Leaf Lounge has showers; see showers and lounges at YUL. There are no sleep pods or nap suites in the terminal (details here).
