Pet-Friendly Hotels at Montreal Airport

Two of the six hotels at Montréal-Trudeau publish a pet policy that accepts pets, and three publish that they do not. The figures below come from each hotel’s own website; the Novotel row comes from booking sites because Accor publishes no pet policy for the hotel.

Hotels that accept pets

The Sheraton is a 7-minute walk from the airport and runs a free shuttle every 30 minutes; its pet rules allow 2 animals up to 40 kg and do not allow pets to be left alone in the room. The Aloft, one kilometre from the terminal with a free shuttle, takes 2 pets up to 20 kg in pet-friendly rooms. The Novotel is 9 km from the terminal in Saint-Laurent with no shuttle, so arrive by car or taxi; its weight limit and fee are not published, so confirm both with the hotel before booking.

Pets in the terminal

Montréal-Trudeau allows pets in the terminal in a cage or on a leash. The airport lists pet relief areas in front of gate 47 (domestic), in front of the restrooms near gate 65 (international), in front of the restrooms near gate 73 (transborder), near Tracker on the departures level, and at the P4 car park.

Pets on the 747 bus and the métro

STM By-law R-036 allows animals on STM buses and in the métro only in a cage or a closed carrier designed for animals, with an exemption for guide dogs and service dogs. The 747 airport bus follows this rule. In 2022 the STM began a pilot project allowing pet dogs in the métro under conditions; check stm.info for the current conditions before travelling with a dog out of a carrier. For the 747 route, fare and stops, see the downtown guide.
